Senior Linux Consultant
The Senior Linux Consultant is responsible for the Design, Implementation and ongoing Support of our client's computing environments. Successful candidate will possess proven problem solving, organizational and outstanding communication skills. The qualified candidate is well versed in a multitude of technology platforms, is capable of working autonomously, is HANDS-ON and has a proven track record of working in diverse computing and business environments.
Key responsibilities:
* Determine computing standards and lead the design, build, and support of cost effective and scalable IT Systems and Applications to enable business productivity and growth for our clients
* Quickly understand the current environment and recommend and improve the hardware and key infrastructure software
* Support and architect IT Core Services - Linux and Windows cross platform such as Postfix, Cyrus, Dovecot, Sieve, Exchange, Active Directory, FileShare, SharePoint, FTP, Backup, Security Infrastructures
* Liaise with line of business stakeholders to gather technology requirements and act as a solutions consultant
* Participate in all forms of IT Service Management initiatives as related to Change Management, Release Management, Problem Management and Incident Response
* Understand business and technology requirements and act as a solutions consultant to lead, implement and document processes – this is a hands-on role
* Has a proven track record of server consolidations
* Assist in the specification, ordering, purchasing, asset-tracking, and inventory of IT Infrastructure equipment/supplies/software
* Participation in after-hours OnCall support rotations
Required skills:

Minimum 5 years of progressive multi-site systems engineering and administration experience

Demonstrable design, implementation, engineering and operational support capabilities in the following technical disciplines:

Linux, NFS

LDAP (OpenLDAP), AD
-
Networking
-
Security
-
Scripting
-
-
Previous experience with IT consulting, managed services is a plus

Experience with Microsoft infrastructure is a plus
